OLLU Pride Week begins today as a tradition that celebrates OLLU’s history and Core Values. The week is filled with activities for the OLLU community with the highlight of the week being Spirit Day on Thursday.
Spirit Day is based on the Western European tradition that dates from the Middle Ages when university communities would celebrate a special Mass to seek the spirit of wisdom at the beginning of the academic year. A celebration of food, music, dancing and games takes place after Mass in the Mall Area.
OLLU Pride Week events include:
Monday:
- Make Monday Matter – Sign up for service project opportunities
2-5 p.m. – Worden School, Room 23
Tuesday:
- CDP Thanksgiving Tuesday – Come make crafts for the CDPs
12-1:30 p.m. – Saints Café
Wednesday:
- SGA Congress Meeting
12:30 p.m. – Providence Hall, West Social Room - Student Success workshop: Study tips and academic success
12:30 p.m. – Renaissance Parlor
Thursday – Spirit Day:
- Classes dismissed – 10:45 a.m.
- Mass of the Holy Spirit – 11 a.m. – Sacred Heart Chapel
- Spirit Day Festival – 12-3:30 p.m. – Mall Area
The Division of Mission and Ministry is selling Spirit Day T-shirts. Shirts are $10 each and can be purchased in the Elliott House. For more information, contact University Ministry at 210-434-6711, ext. 3973 or ministry@ollusa.edu.
Spirit Day meals can be purchased in the cafeteria for $5 each. The meal includes a cheeseburger, chips and a drink. Students can use their meal plans to purchase a meal.
