Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team split a pair of doubleheaders this weekend with Midland University.  In the first doubleheader, the Saints lost 2-3 and 2-4 and won the second doubleheader 18-11 and 11-4.

The Saints are now 7-9 overall, while the Warriors move to 4-5.

Head Coach Bryan Aughney said, “We had a repeat of last weekend, when we pitched good enough to win on Friday, but our offensive approach and execution were not there. Then we got things rolling offensively on Saturday and were able to put some runs on the board. We had some guys really step up on Saturday, too; Ryan Chapa (SO/Corpus Christi, Texas) had a great day and Matthew Klar (FR/San Antonio, Texas) had a good weekend, as well. We need to continue working on our mental approach to put an entire weekend together. We got more tune ups this week, and then it’s conference. It’s important we are firing on all cylinders.”
