OLLU softball signs Kaili Luna from Converse

The softball team is proud to announce the signing of incoming freshman Kaili Luna. She will join the team this fall.

The softball team’s spring 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 crisis. The NAIA mandated that all spring sports be canceled. The Saints are scheduled to play a limited fall 2020 lineup then get set for their official spring season in February 2021.

Luna is from Converse, Texas, and attended Judson High School. She chose OLLU because she feels that it will open up opportunities, and it keeps her close to home.

Head Coach Bruce Lenington commented, “I am extremely happy to welcome Kaili to our program. I believe her skill set as a slapper and outfielder makes her ready for the college game immediately. She has extensive knowledge of softball and is constantly communicating on the field.”

Luna’s hobbies include singing, softball, drawing, listening to music and dancing. Her athletic role model is University of Oklahoma softball player Nicole Mendes. Luna was named to the Academic All-District team in 2018 and 2019 and the Second Team All-District list in 2018. She was also an honorable mention for the 2019 All-District team.
