OLLU secures funding for scholarships and tobacco-free campus initiative

OLLU received $78,000 in funding this summer to support scholarships and a tobacco-free campus. The grants:

The Baptist Health Foundation awarded $53,000 in scholarships for OLLU students seeking graduate and doctoral degrees in communication disorders, psychology, marriage and family therapy and social work.

The Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio and the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) awarded $5,000 in scholarships for Mexican students living in the United States and attending OLLU.

The truth initiative awarded $20,000 to support OLLU’s new tobacco-free campus initiative. The project will be largely student-led and helps students, faculty and staff to commit to creating a tobacco-free environment at OLLU. Funding was secured by Julie Kneupper of Student Health Services and Catherine Fragoso of Student Leadership Development.
