Competitive dance adds Jaelyn Garza from Runge

Our Lady of the Lake University has signed was Jaelyn Garza from Runge, Texas. The sophomore will join the Competitive Dance team and attended Karnes City High School. Garza received the Karnes City Columbus Club Scholarship and Band Booster Club Scholarship while at Karnes City High School. She also received the Directors Award for Leadership and was a three-time consecutive twirling medalist and finalist for regional and state UIL competition, among other accomplishments.

While at OLLU, Garza was one of the first members of the Multicultural Alliance for Peace in Society Club Organization (MAPS) and held the officer and public relations manager positions. She is a part of the National Honor Society and received the OLLU Academic Scholarship.

Garza’s hobbies are working out, yoga, modeling, gymnastics, traveling, drawing, dance, twirling and listening to music. Her athletic role model is Laila Ali and her favorite motto is “She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future,” (Proverbs 31:25).
