Men’s basketball welcomes Rice transfer Jonathan Sanchez
The men’s basketball team has announced the signing of Jonathan Sanchez.
Sanchez is a graduate student from McAllen, Texas, and played basketball at Memorial High School. He is pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare management. The 6’7″ power forward/center also received a scholarship and played football at NCAA D1 Rice University. His hobbies include working out, playing guitar, watching anime and building. Sanchez’s athletic role model is Dennis Rodman.
Head Coach Chris Dial commented, “Jonathan brings maturity and leadership to OLLU. Carrying an undergraduate degree from Rice University and the experience of being a scholarship NCAA D1 football player, he is somewhat of a unique recruit for us. We feel fortunate he chose to study at OLLU and contribute to our team and culture. We are excited to have him and to be a part of his journey.”
Sanchez will join the Saints for the 2021-2022 season, beginning in the fall.
