Volunteers needed to assist migrants at airport

OLLU is again teaming up with Catholic Charities and is seeking volunteers to assist migrants traveling through San Antonio en route to their host family destinations across the country. Volunteers — especially those who speak Spanish or French — are needed at the San Antonio Airport to provide directions, assistance with printing boarding passes, and distributing meals and other items.

Volunteers will be provided free parking, masks and access to hand-sanitizing stations. Catholic Charities is teaming up with the San Antonio Food Bank, the City of San Antonio and other faith-based groups in this effort.

Gift-Card Drive

Earlier this week, OLLU announced efforts to join forces with Catholic Charities to assist families from Afghanistan through a gift-card drive. Gift cards of any amount from H-E-B, Walmart and Target are appreciated. The drive will continue through Sept. 30.
