OLLU appoints Haley Holzem as Women’s Athletic Administrator

The Athletic Department has announced the appointment of Haley Holzem as the university’s Women’s Athletic Administrator. Holzem, who joined the athletic staff in August 2019 as the administrative office assistant, will assist with managing the university’s athletic program, along with Athletic Director Shane Hurley and Assistant Athletic Director Bryan Aughney.

Hurley commented, “Bryan and I are very excited to add Haley to our administrative team. She is intelligent, proactive and highly motivated, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow as a professional and administrator. She will serve as another resource and voice for our student-athletes, as well as monitor all aspects of the athletic program for equity concerns while providing necessary recommendations and corrective actions. All of our student-athletes should know that she, like Bryan and myself, are resources for them to express their concerns or to speak with for assistance.”

Holzem will provide consultation of matters related to game-day administration, disciplinary action for athletes and equity/fairness within the athletic program, as well as assisting in ensuring compliance with the National Athletic Intercollegiate Association (NAIA), the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA), Title IX and university rules and regulations governing all facets of athletic programs. Holzem also will continue her duties as the administrative office assistant, which include maintaining budgetary records, documentation of fundraising, as well as spending and student-based record-keeping for OLLU, the NAIA and the EADA report while ensuring equity in all departmental decisions.

Holzem, a native of Normal, Ill., graduated from Eureka College in Illinois, where she played volleyball all four years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Management. She is currently completing her MBA in Management at OLLU with plans to graduate in spring 2022.

“I am both honored and blessed to be given the opportunity as the Women’s Athletic Administrator,” Holzem said. “After being a part of the expansion of teams during my past two years at Our Lady of the Lake, I am excited to be an additional resource and mentor for our athletes as the department continues its growth. I look forward to continuing my journey at OLLU in this new position.”
