Women’s Track Field has successful showing at Trinity Invitational

The women’s track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Trinity University on March 3-4.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, “Our national 4x100m relay team from last year lowered their record, qualified for nationals and made their presence known. We had excellent performances from all groups, and we have so much room to grow with this already flourishing team.”

Several team members had significant results. Autumn Roberts broke the OLLU record in the 400m with a time of 58.72.

Roberts and her teammates Alondra Toledo, Kiana Kebbi and Larrisa McHenry broke the OLLU record in the 4x100m Relay with a time of 47.03. Their “A” standard time also qualifies them for the NAIA Nationals. Full results are listed on the Saints Athletics website.

What’s next
The Saints will participate next in the UTSA Invitational hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio on March 17-18.

Men’s Track and Field opens outdoor season at Trinity Invitational

The men’s track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Trinity University March 3-4.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, “We made a statement. Our 4x100m team qualified for nationals at their first opportunity. The sprint squad turned heads with their performance and the other groups had solid openers. We definitely enjoyed the festivities.”

Several team members had significant results. Jalen Bell broke the OLLU record in the 100m with a time of 10.77. Bell and teammates Spencer Williams, Rodney Webber and Jesus Riefkhol-Delgado broke the OLLU record in the 4x100m Relay with a time of 41.23. The group also qualified for nationals with their “A” standard mark.

Troy Stinson, Ruben Davis, Anthony Alvarado and Justin Gould broke the OLLU record in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:23.33. Victor Delos Santos broke OLLU’s record in the discus with a mark of 36.86.
