OLLU recognized the achievements of the men’s and women’s basketball teams from the 2022-2023 season during the virtual 11th Annual Big Blue Athletics Banquet.

The season was highlighted by the men earning their first-ever NAIA Scholar Team award after posting a 3.2 GPA. The women also repeated as NAIA Scholar Team winners after posting a 3.02 GPA. Both the men and women made it to the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championships and finished as quarterfinalists.

The season was also highlighted by major awards received by seniors Ruben Monzon and Natalia Trevino.

Both Monzon and Trevino made it into the Saints 1,000-Point Club this season. Trevino also was named to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention team.

In addition, both Monzon and Trevino were their team’s Top Saint award winners.
