Men’s Outdoor Track and Field opens season at Trinity Invitational

The OLLU Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Team opened its 2024 season this past weekend at the Trinity Invitational. 

Several Saints placed in the top five of their events. They include William Smith in the 110m hurdles for first place. Jayden Turrbiates in the 10000m, and Jayden Erikewe in the 110m hurdles and in the 400m hurdles (an OLLU record) for second place. Finishing in third was the 4x400m relay team consisting of Justin Gould, Matthew Flemming, Joshua Veliz and D’Myun Jackson. In fourth place was Vincent Garza in the 10000m and in fifth were Kruz Malesich in the 10000m, Spencer Williams in the 100m and Flemming in the 800m. 

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, “It was an outstanding opener and our athletes are clearly poised to run a fantastic outdoor season. I’m excited for this spring and seeing records fall this early is a great sign of things to come.”
