OLLU to host national ESMOAS Workshop in September

OLLU has been selected to host the Eugene Scassa Mock Organization of American States Program (ESMOAS) Parliamentary Workshop and Summit of the Americas Scrimmage on Sept. 28. The Parliamentary Procedures Workshop attracts students from across the U.S.

OLLU is one of four founding members of ESMOAS, which began in 1995. The ESMOAS Program is the oldest and largest regional simulation of the Organization of American States (OAS) at the college level. Universities from across the U.S. and Mexico participate each year.

The ESMOAS Program has placed countless students in internships and paid positions within the U.S. State Department, Foreign Service, federal, state and local government, and, at the OAS and the United Nations.

ESMOAS students receive training to become leaders at their respective institutions (three active students are student body presidents), and as leaders in the private and public sectors.
