Annual Loaves and Fishes starts today, continues through Tuesday

The Division of Mission and Ministry will host its annual “Loaves and Fishes” today and Tuesday from  9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Elliott House.

The “Loaves and Fishes” program provides students with hot food and a welcoming environment during final exams each semester. The Division of Mission and Ministry is aware that some students might be running low (or might be already out) of their meal plan and need a boost to fuel them through that final stretch.

Please remind students about this event so that they may take advantage of this opportunity.

There are three ways in which anyone can participate in this program:

  1. Serve as a host/greeter for one or more one-hour shifts during final exams week. Please sign up HERE: https://forms.office.com/r/H4L1pPqtBS to schedule a time Monday-Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Hosting duties involve welcoming each student to the house, chatting with students, assisting kitchen staff in keeping food and beverage serving area fully stocked, helping to create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all.

2.       Donate any food items from the following list:

•          Protein Bars/Breakfast Bars/Granola Bars

•          Sandwich Crackers

•          String Cheese

•          Individually packaged mixed nuts

•          Juice Boxes (apple or orange)

•          Bananas, apples and oranges

•          Bottled Water (MOST REQUESTED ITEM)

3.    Pray daily for the students taking finals, the faculty giving and grading final exams and projects, and the community members who are giving of their time and talents in the Loaves and Fishes program.

If you would like to donate, please deliver your items to the Elliott House this week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
