The women’s basketball squad beat Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) 73-71. The Saints are now 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). The Rams move to 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the RRAC.
Head Coach Tanya Ray said, “I thought we did a really good job executing our offense today. I thought we gave them too many extra opportunities on their offensive end and that’s what made the game close. We were able to get crucial stops down the stretch when we needed to and were able to secure the win.”

The Saints were 30-3 against HTU prior to the game.
Offensive/defensive standouts
Carlea Owens led the Saints with 20 points. She also led the team with 10 rebounds for a double-double. Alexandra Westerdijk Martin and Samantha Fields had five assists apiece.
Inside the box
OLLU combined for 28-of-54 shooting for 51.9 percent, 9-of-24 from three-point range for 37.5 percent and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line for 72.7 percent. The Saints totaled 34 rebounds and 16 assists.
