This week, we invite you to reflect on the concept of Cultural Humility, which is an ongoing process that encourages understanding and self-awareness when interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds. It’s about growing through curiosity, self-reflection, and an openness to learn and adapt.
To help foster that growth, we encourage you to watch the video Culturally Informed Care for BIPOC & Indigenous Sexual Assault Survivors (available here). The video highlights important cultural considerations when supporting BIPOC and Indigenous survivors of sexual assault. It offers insight into culturally sensitive techniques and practices to ensure survivors receive the best care and support possible.
As a reminder, it’s also important to familiarize yourself with the university’s Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy. You can also learn more about the Title IX team and confidential services available to you and other survivors. These resources are in place to ensure a safe, supportive campus community for all.
