What does your department wish everyone at OLLU knew? Whether it’s how to navigate a process, find the right resource or connect with your team, a short conversation can make a difference.
The OLLU Staff Assembly is launching “Pláticas: 15-Minute Virtual Lunch & Learn,” a new initiative designed to keep our University community connected, informed and ready to help—and your department is invited to participate.
Starting soon, these short, focused virtual sessions will be featured weekly in Lake Weekly. Each Plática will offer a brief update or demonstration from an OLLU department or office, giving colleagues an opportunity to learn about campus resources, procedures and the people behind them.
Your Everyday Knowledge Could Be Someone Else’s Time-Saver
You don’t need a big announcement to host a Plática. Think about the questions your team answers most often or a tip that could make a colleague’s day easier. Possible topics include:
- Meet the Team: Introduce new staff members and explain how your office can help.
- Who Handles What?: Help colleagues find the right contact the first time.
- A Process Made Simple: Walk through a new policy, form or procedure.
- Work Smarter: Demonstrate a technology shortcut or time-saving tool.
- Connecting Students to Support: Explain when and how to make a referral.
- Good News Worth Sharing: Highlight grants, awards or departmental accomplishments.
By sharing your expertise, you can help colleagues work more confidently, strengthen campus connections and better support our students.
