The tennis teams hosted their annual Spring Tennis Mixer last Friday. More than 50 staff, faculty and alumni came out to play with the tennis teams while enjoying refreshments and snacks provided by the President’s Office and the Alumni Office.

Julie Tea, a representative of AGB Search, the firm assisting the university in the search for a new president, will be on campus Wednesday-Friday to conduct forums and gather input needed to begin the process. Students, staff and faculty are invited to the following forums:

Mexican American Studies Conference and Student Research Symposium this week
The Center for Mexican American Studies and Research will be holding its annual conference March 27-28. This year’s theme, “Adding ‘Arts’ to STEM: A Culturally Relevant STEAM,” will showcase and promote student and faculty scholarly and creative activities, which contribute to a broader and deeper understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines and how incorporating arts and culture can engage more students in these fields of study.
The conference will include a Student Scholarly and Creative Activity Symposium on Thursday and the STEAM Professional Development Institute on Friday. Registration is required for the STEAM Institute.

OLLU community invited to retirement celebration for Dr. Danis
The OLLU community is cordially invited to a celebration for Dr. Mary Francine Danis and her 43 years of service to Our Lady of the Lake University, on Tuesday, April 1, from 3-5 p.m. in Providence Hall, West Social Room.
In lieu of gifts, Dr. Danis has asked that donations be made to one of the following:

- The Jud Mather Scholarship
- The Albert J. Griffith Endowed Fellowship
- The Howard Benoist Scholarship

National César Chávez Blood Drive Challenge
The vOLLUnteer Unity Council and the Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism (CSLV) are sponsoring the National César Chávez Blood Drive Challenge Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Library Circle. Participants must be at least 17 years old, at least 110 pounds and in good health to donate blood. Photo ID is required.
Students will receive one volunteer credit hour for donating blood.
Everyone who donates will receive a T-shirt and a chance to win a pair of plaza level tickets to a San Antonio Spurs game.

Join the Worden Social Work Organization for a spaghetti dinner
The Worden Social Work Organization is holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser next Monday from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Worden Lobby. Each plate is $5 and includes spaghetti with a choice of sauce, salad and bread. All profits raised from the fundraiser will assist in sending social work students to the National Association of Social Workers Convention and sponsoring Phi Alpha’s Honors Convocation.

The vOLLUnteer Unity Council and the Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism (CSLV) invites all students, faculty and staff to take part in vOLLUnteer Impact on Saturday from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Volunteers will be working at Fiesta Especial, the Guadalupe Community Center, the Guadalupe Home, Texas Diaper Bank, Elmendorf Lake Clean-Up, and the Children’s Museum.

Early Registration for summer and fall 2014 begins April 7
Beginning April 7, OLLU students will be able to register for summer and fall courses. Summer and fall 2014 course schedules are available on WebAdvisor. Early registration runs online 7 a.m.-midnight, and in person 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
The schedule for early registration is as follows:
- April 7 – Seniors, Master’s and Doctoral Students
- April 8 – Juniors, Seniors, Master’s and Doctoral Students
- April 9 – all currently enrolled students
After April 9, online registration will be available online through WebAdvisor from 7 a.m.-midnight and in person registration will be available in the Registrar’s Office during regular business hours.
Students must make an appointment with their adviser to select their courses and receive permission to register online. New freshmen (those who began in fall 2013 or spring 2014) must contact their adviser from the Student Success Center for advising and registration. Advising week is March 31-April 4.
