Five Saints selected to Women’s Soccer 2022 Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference Team

The Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) announced the 2022 RRAC Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team. Postseason award winners were voted by the conference’s head coaches.

Named to the All-Conference First Team is Deanna Tarango. She was part of the First-Team in 2020.

Madison Herrera has been named to the Second Team. In 2019, she received Honorable Mention honors and in 2020 and 2021, she was named to the First Team.

Receiving Honorable Mention are Kyleigh Spree-Kolos and Rachel Dziuba. Spree-Kolos was part of the Second-Team in 2020 and the Honorable-Mention Team last year. Dziuba is also the team’s Champions of Character selectee.

Kaitlyn Olivas is selected to the All-Freshman Team.

Notice of Annual Security Report

In a continued effort to keep our communities safe, and in compliance with state and federal laws, including the Clery Act, the OLLU Police Department is providing you notice that the 2022 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR) for San Antonio, Houston and Rio Grande Valley is now published on the university website. This notice also was email to the university community last week.

The ASR provides OLLU crime statistics for 2019, 2020, and 2021 as well as valuable information regarding policies and procedures related to campus safety and security; drug and alcohol use; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking; fire incidents and safety procedures. I highly encourage you to take some time and visit the website and review the ASR as it provides additional safety and security related information as it pertains to each campus.

You can locate the 2022, 2021 and 2020 reports by visiting “Campus Life” from the university website homepage and selecting “University Police” and then “Security Reports and Crime Logs.” You also can easily locate the latest report on the website by selecting the “Consumer Information” link at the bottom of the OLLU website and then selecting “Annual Crime and Fire Safety Report.”

Textbooks from summer courses must be returned by Aug. 15 

OLLU undergraduate students taking summer courses must return textbooks by Monday, Aug. 15, to avoid incurring any fees. Failure to return books by the deadline will result in a charge to the student’s account for the purchase price of each unreturned book.

2022 Visiting Writer to speak on Race and Class in Literature

An author reading by Anel Flores, 2022 Visiting Writer, will be held at the Sueltenfuss Library Community Room on April 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Flores will speak on Race and Class in Literature. She is an award-winning author whose areas of study and production are literary fiction and visual art. Flores was named Women’s Advocate of the Year in 2018 by the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The reading is open to the public. The event may be viewed in person or online (scan QR code below for online access).
