Political science major interned for mayor’s re-election campaign

Sophomore Political Science major Eva Salinas served as an intern for the successful re-election campaign of San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg.

An aspiring lawyer, Salinas called registered voters and created content for Nirenberg’s social media accounts, such as Instagram and Twitter.

“We focused on voter registration, social media outreach, canvassing and phone banking to make sure the mayor was re-elected,” said Salinas, who is scheduled to graduate in 2023.

On May 1, Nirenberg was re-elected to a third term as mayor with 62 percent of the vote. Salinas completed her internship at that time.
