Portland Tidwell, a Mass Communication junior, is the reigning Miss Texas United States and will compete in the Miss USA Ambassador pageant in Orlando, Florida from July 23-29.

“The pageant is 100 percent community driven,” Tidwell said. “I’ll not only represent Texas, San Antonio and OLLU, but also the 100 Club of San Antonio, a nonprofit that raises money for families of fallen first responders as I am their spokesperson.”

Tidwell is on the Dean’s List and has logged more than 2300 community service hours since her sophomore year in high school. She will serve as Managing Editor for Lake Front Media during the 2023-24 academic year.
