Music program to present ‘Pop Gets Jazzed’ on Wednesday

The OLLU music program will present a lecture-recital, “Pop Gets Jazzed,” featuring the Graeme Francis Trio, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Thiry Auditorium.

The Community Hour Music Series event will feature interactive discussions and exciting live performances of music from the popular music spectrum. The lecture-recital will include music that reflects pop music’s gradual shift from early jazz to rock and roll to early 80’s synth-pop to current hip hop and R&B.

Audience members will enjoy a fun, relaxed learning atmosphere that encourages participants of all ages to explore the many similarities between these musical genres.
