The Saints women’s basketball team remained undefeated in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play Jan. 7, defeating the University of the Southwest (USW) Mustangs 82-54.

The women’s soccer team gathered a couple of nonconference wins over the weekend. One was against former Red River Athletic Conference member Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) – the Saints won 1-0 on Friday evening. The second game was against No. 12-ranked Oklahoma City University (OCU) by the score of 2-1 on Saturday evening. The wins improve the Saints’ record to 7-1-1 overall as they enter their conference schedule this week against the University of the Southwest on Thursday. SAGU – a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference – drops to 1-5, and OCU, also a member of the Sooner, drops to 4-3. Read more online.

After the cross-country team’s meet in New Summerfield, Texas, was cancelled due to weather conditions, the Saints took a traveling detour to Fort Worth, Texas, to participate in the Fourth Annual Ram Rumble at Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday. Fellow Red River Athletic Conference members the University of Texas at Brownsville and Langston University were also participating in the meet, so, according to Head Coach Stephen Sherman, “It was important for us to square off with them.” On the women’s side, OLLU, UTB and Langston represent the top three conference teams.
