Joseph Anderson selected as conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Joseph Anderson (SR/Houston, Texas) earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his play over the dates of Oct. 25-31. This is the first conference award of the 2021-2022 men’s basketball season.

Anderson accounted for 21 points and six rebounds as the Saints won their season opener, 103-90, over Southwestern Christian University. The senior guard from Houston was 5-of-9 from the field including a pair of three-pointers. Anderson was also 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. 

OLLU softball’s Brittany Stone earns RRAC Player of the Week honors

BrittanyStone2015-7Brittany Stone of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) was named Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the dates of April 6-12.

Stone elevated the Saints to a doubleheader sweep of the University of Houston-Victoria with five hits and a pair of RBIs. The senior third baseman was 4-for-7 in the first game with a double and an RBI to lead a 4-2 victory. Read more online.

OLLU’s Teegan Luckemeyer and Victoria Vazquez named conference ‘Players of the Week’

Teegan Luckemeyer stood out as the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 9-15, while her teammate, Victoria Vazquez, claimed the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is Vazquez’ third consecutive recognition as the conference’s Player of the Week. On Aug. 26-Sept. 1 and Sept. 2-9, she was named “Offensive Player of the Week.” Luckemeyer, a sophomore forward from New Braunfels, Texas, produced a pair of goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Saints. She posted a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory over Concordia University (Texas) then booted in a goal to tag Northwood University with its first loss by a 4-3 score.
