Softball defeats Texas College, owns nation’s longest winning streak

The No. 1-ranked OLLU softball team blanked Texas College (TC) in both games during a March 9 doubleheader to extend its winning streak to 19 games, the longest in the NAIA.

The Saints improve to 23-1 on the season and 6-0 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). 

Samantha Valdez threw a three-hit shutout in the opener, striking out 11 in a 4-0 victory. In the second game, Alana Benitez homered, doubled and drove in five runs in a 9-0 victory.
