OLLU WINS RED RIVER ATHLETIC CONFERERENCE TOP GPA AWARD

OLLU was honored with its second Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) GPA Award as the conference program delivering the best academic performance in 2020-2021. An RRAC member since 2008 and part of the NAIA since 2007, OLLU also led the RRAC with a record-breaking 166 student-athletes earning a 3.0-grade point average or better last year. The cumulative GPA total for OLLU’s student-athletes was best-ever 3.24. (Special note: eight student-athletes competed in two sports and will be honored with two awards.)

The RRAC GPA Award is presented annually to the athletic program with the best cumulative GPA among all of its student-athletes in the most recent academic year. The award encompasses all conference sports and any NAIA-certified student-athletes during the 2020-2021 seasons.

“The results speak for themselves,” says OLLU Athletic Director Shane Hurley. “We are a great team here at OLLU. Our coaches support our professors, and our professors, academic advisers, tutors, counselors and student services support all of us. It’s a wonderful place to be because everyone is putting the student first and success is, therefore, a product that is being cultivated. Hats off to our student-athletes for this accomplishment!”
