Women complete their indoor track and field season at Texas Tech meet

The women’s indoor track and field team competed in the Jarvis Schott Open at Texas Tech University.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, “Our team lined up against the biggest, baddest schools in the country and performed their best. We had plenty of PRs, and we’re better for having come to this caliber of meet. The group did very well, and I’m excited to watch them use this performance as a springboard into our outdoor season.”

Standout is Kiana Kebbi who broke the school record in the 60m with a time of 7.84.

Women’s track and field team open indoor season in Kansas with three records broken

The women’s indoor track and field team participated in the Crimson & Gold Invite sponsored by Pittsburg State University. The team made an impressive appearance and several members etched their names in the Saints record book.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, “We are starting much better than last year and some of that credit certainly belongs to Coach Orlando Mathews and Coach Brett Charlton for making adjustments from last year’s preparation. We had three school records broken, one by Viridiana Zuniga and two by Kiana Kebbi. Hopefully, we can carry that positive start forward to the rest of the season.”

Saints’ sophomore Kiana Kebbi set the school record in the 200m with a time of 25.60 and in the 60m with a time of 7.87. Senior Viridiana Zuniga broke the record in the 800m with a time of 2:29.
