Criminology and Criminal Justice program represents OLLU at Southwestern Conference

Students from the Criminology and Criminal Justice program attended the Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice Conference, Sept. 26-28. Students Lizbeth Parra, Mario Moreno, Brenda Caitlin, Kendra Jowers and Joanna Licon competed in the Conference’s Quiz Bowl and earned third place.

McNair scholar Joanna Licon and Jiletta Kubena, PhD, assistant professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice, presented their study, “Families and Delinquency: What Matters for Mexican-American Juveniles,” during the conference.

Additionally, Dr. Kubena was elected as first vice president of the Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice. She will serve as president of the association during the 2014-2015 academic year.
