Students, faculty and staff invited to discussion on ‘Sex and the Soul’

“Sex and the Soul,” a dialogue with author Donna Freitas, will kick off the 2013-2014 Providence Lecture Series at OLLU on Oct. 22. Freitas, whose book by the same title focuses on the challenges young adults face on college campuses as they juggle sexuality, spirituality, romance and religion, will lead two dialogues:
- From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Freitas will lead faculty and staff in a dialogue on how to support students as they face the challenges of living in a hook-up culture.
- From 5-8 p.m., Freitas will lead students in a dialogue on how to deal with the pressures of the culture. Both sessions will be held in Chapel Auditorium.
This is the third year of the Providence Lecture Series, which is organized by OLLU’s division of Mission and Ministry. The series focuses on the Catholic intellectual tradition and emphasizes the place of a Catholic university as a center of creativity and dissemination of knowledge for the good of humanity.
