Nashae Owens earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award for the dates of Jan. 20-26. Owens, a junior guard from Pearland, Texas, guided the 11th-ranked Saints to a 2-1 week. Playing every minute except for one in three games, she averaged 21.7 points and 4.7 rebounds. Owens led OLLU with 29 points and six boards in a 109-100 victory over Huston-Tillotson University before dropping in 17 points in a 96-92 showdown win over Wiley. She also accounted for 19 points in a loss to LSU Shreveport. Overall, Owens made 21-of-45 shots from the field and 19-of-22 from the free throw line.
