LSU-Shreveport delivers first conference loss to OLLU women’s basketball

The women’s basketball team fell to Louisiana State University – Shreveport Saturday night to record its first conference loss of the season. The Saints drop to 6-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 15-2 overall, while LSU-S improves to 7-2 and 14-5 overall. The Saints (the No. 11 team in the NAIA) and LSU-S are one game behind league-leader and No. 13 ranked Wiley College (8-1/18-2). Nashae Owens led the team in scoring with 19, including 5-of-13 from the field, 2-of-6 3-pointers and 7-of-8 free throws. She added six assists and three steals. Rebecca Kolawole scored 18 points, while Mercedes Dobson finished with 10 points. OLLU shot 33 percent from the field, 25 percent from 3-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line.
