OLLU men’s basketball defeats Bacone 105-93

MensBB2-3-2De’Quentin Greer scored a career-high 34 points to lead the men’s basketball team to a 105-93 win over Bacone College. The victory moves the Saints to 7-2 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 12-8 overall, while Bacone drops to 5-4 in the conference and 8-12 overall. Head Coach Ryan Wall commented, “DQ played very well, and didn’t miss very many shots. He played a key role in our win tonight.” Greer’s 34 points included 12-of-14 from the field and 10-of-11 free throws. He added seven rebounds and two assists. Xavier Roberson scored 30 points including 9-of-21 from the field, seven 3-pointers and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. The Saints shot 47 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line. They committed 15 turnovers while forcing 23 on Bacone. The Saints will play their next two games on the road. On Feb. 6, they will be in Hobbs, N.M. to play the University of the Southwest.
