UIW Moody Professor to present lecture next week

The OLLU community is invited to a lecture by University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Moody Professor, Theresa Tiggeman, CPA, on April 14 at noon in Providence Hall, Blue Room. Her lecture, “A Service-Learning Tax Course: Ideas that Transfer,” will deal with Tiggeman’s work as an advocate for the working poor and her association with the Volunteers in Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. She will also discuss the service-learning she has designed for her students who work in the VITA Program.
The Moody Professorship is a shared program with UIW. It was established in 1971 through a gift from the Moody Foundation of Galveston. It provides two endowed professorships each year—one at OLLU and one at UIW. Moody professors from both universities present lectures on each campus. Mark Green, PhD, professor of Leadership Studies, is the OLLU 2013-2014 Moody Professor. He presented his OLLU lecture on March 18.
