Softball beats Texas College 57-1 in four-game series

Softball 2The softball team devastated the Texas College Steers this past weekend by a combined score of 57-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Saints won 11-0, 16-0, 16-1 and 14-0 – all in five innings to move to 27-9-1 overall and 10-2 in conference. The Steers drop to 1-23 overall and 0-12 in conference. The Saints remain three games behind league-leader University of the Southwest (17-3/29-11) and two games ahead of third-place Bacone College (10-6/20-24). In fourth place is Langston University (4-12/15-28) followed by Huston-Tillotson University (3-9/6-24) and Texas College. Brittany Stone had the best series of all Saints members. On eight at-bats, she had seven runs, five hits, three doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs. She was followed by Amanda Hinojosa, who had seven runs, four hits, two home runs and seven RBIs.
