OLLU community invited to ‘John XXIII and Catholic Identity’ workshops

The OLLU community is invited to join the Congregation of Divine Providence and Pax Christi-San Antonio for two workshops on the impact of Pope John XXIII. John XXIII was the pope who convened the Second Vatican Council and renewed interfaith and interchurch dialogue.

The first workshop will be held July 12 from 2-4 p.m. Anthony J. Blasi, PhD, STL, ThD, will give an account of the life of Angelo Roncalli, peasant, pope and saint. Members of Pax Christi-San Antonio will facilitate group discussions of the selections from the encyclical, “Mater et Magistra.”

The second workshop will be held on Aug. 2 from 2-4 p.m. During the workshop, Tom Keene will focus on Pope John XXIII’s famous peace encyclical, “Pacem in Terris,” portions of which were written during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

For more information, contact Sister Theresa Ann Billeaud, CPD at 210-460-8448 or tbilleaud@cdptexas.org.

Both workshops will take place at the Our Lady of the Lake Convent.
