On Tuesday, March 31, at 10 a.m. the university community is invited to attend the groundbreaking for $14.25 million in improvements to Elmendorf Lake and its surrounding recreational park. To be held in the bandshell, the celebration will recognize the combined efforts of the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, the Westside Creeks Restoration project, and the San Antonio River Authority, as well as the involvement of OLLU, the Sisters of Divine Providence, and individuals and organizations from the neighborhood. Supported by voters during the 2012 bond election, the project will include improvements to the Lake’s water quality and many park amenities.
