‘How to help students in a crisis’ on Wednesday
Counseling Services and Student Life are hosting the seminar “How to help students in a crisis,” on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Main Building, Room 311.
Staff and faculty members who supervise, teach, mentor or work with students are encouraged to attend this event to get answers to some of the following questions/scenarios:
- What to say when a student is talking about mental health/emotional issues that they may not feel comfortable talking about or don’t know how to handle.
- What to do when they encounter a student who may be depressed.
- How fast can Counseling Services see a student?
This event will answer questions faculty and staff members often have and will give tips on how to support students.
Questions or topics participants would like for the seminar to cover can be submitted anonymously by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QGTWQDQ.
This will be an informal conversation. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch, and desserts will be provided. Those who think they may attend should email firstname.lastname@example.org. RSVPs are not required, but this will ensure there are enough desserts for those who do attend
