OLLU faculty/staff get $5 off Campanas de America Valentine’s Day concert tickets

The acclaimed musical group, Mariachi Campanas de America, will present its annual Valentine’s Day concert on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in Thiry Auditorium.

Ticket prices range from $5-$20 and can be purchased online at www.ticketriver.com. OLLU faculty and staff will receive $5 off the ticket price, but tickets must be purchased in person in Casa Caritas, Room 9, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m.

Join OLLU group for annual MLK March

There are still slots available to carpool with the OLLU group participating in San Antonio’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. March on Jan. 16. To sign up, visit the Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism Office in Worden School Building, Room 23, or call 210-431-3990. Students can earn volunteer hours for participating in the march.

The group carpooling from OLLU will meet in front of the Worden Building at 7:40 a.m. on Jan. 16 to travel to the march.

For those wishing to meet up with the OLLU group at the march, look for the OLLU banner at the beginning of the route. The OLLU group will gather beginning at 9:30 a.m.

MLK March details: The march begins at 10 a.m. in front of the MLK Academy in the 3500 block of MLK Drive. The march ends at Pittman-Sullivan Park at 1101 Iowa Street. The route is approximately 2.7 miles.

Join OLLU for the first ever 5K Confetti Run

5k-confetti-run-and-walkOLLU is hosting its first ever 5K Confetti Run and Walk on Saturday, April 1, 2017, on campus. The family-friendly event will include the race in addition to crafts, balloon art, an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny and other activities.

Employees required to complete workplace harassment training by tomorrow

OLLU is committed to providing a safe learning, working, and living environment that is free from violence and unlawful discrimination and harassment. As part of that commitment, all faculty and staff are required to complete the Workplace Harassment Fundamentals online training course by Jan. 4.

To access the training:

    1. Go to www.edurisklearning.org
    2. Enter login credentials
      • Username: Your OLLU email address (include @ollusa.edu)
      • Password: olluemployee1!
    3. Click tan box labeled “Workplace Harassment Prevention”
    4. Click tan box labeled “Workplace Harassment Fundamentals” (click “Prevencion de Acoso en el Lugar de Trabajo” for Spanish version).

Note: The training can be saved and completed at a later time if you are unable to complete it in a single session. The training takes approximately 50 minutes to complete.

OLLU women’s basketball suffers first home loss of the season to Cardinal Stritch

womens-basketball-12-31-16The OLLU women’s basketball team suffered its first home loss since Jan. 9, 2015—a span of 24 games—falling 68-81 to the Cardinal Stritch University (CSU) Wolves on the last day of the OLLU Winter Tourney on Dec. 31, 2016. With the loss, the No. 21-ranked Saints drop to 8-6 on the season and are 4-0 in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play. The Wolves, who are currently ranked No. 16 in NAIA Division II, improved to 12-3 on the season. Read more online.
