2019 OLLU Pride Week this week

OLLU Pride Week begins today as a tradition that celebrates OLLU’s history and Core Values. The week is filled with activities for the OLLU community with the highlight of the week being Spirit Day on Thursday.

Spirit Day is based on the Western European tradition that dates from the Middle Ages when university communities would celebrate a special Mass to seek the spirit of wisdom at the beginning of the academic year. A celebration of food, music, dancing and games take place after Mass in the Mall Area.

OLLU Pride Week events include:

Monday:

  • We Love Our CDPs – 12:30 p.m. – Saints Café
  • Latinx Movie Night – 6 p.m. – Providence Hall, West Social Room

Tuesday:

  • Constitution Day – 12:30 p.m. – Mall Area

Wednesday:

  • Wings Up Wednesday
  • Sueltenfuss Carnival – 6-8 p.m.

Thursday – Spirit Day

  • Mass of the Holy Spirit – 11 a.m.
  • Spirit Day Festival – 12-3:30 p.m. – UWAC Front Lawn

Friday

  • Hero of La Historia Chicana: The Life and Art of Jesse Trevino – 7-9 p.m. – Sueltenfuss Library
