OLLU’s Stephen Sherman recognized for 10 years of service to the university

The OLLU community came together on Thursday morning for the annual Spirit Day Mass of the Holy Spirit in the Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel. OLLU honored 36 people whose tenure with the school range from 10 years to 40. Among those 36 was Assistant Athletic Director, Cross-Country and Track and Field Head Coach Stephen Sherman.

“It has been quite the ride here at the Lake over the past 10 years,” Sherman said. “I feel like, within my 10 years, I have collected about 20 years worth of experience. I have had the privilege of starting men’s and women’s cross-country, and then, later on, men’s and women’s track and field, too. I have not only been a witness to those programs becoming highly successful, but I have been very fortunate to see an entire athletic department become highly successful as well. I will always be extremely thankful for everyone in 2009 who took a chance on a 25-year-old coach, who had little more than ambition and a vision that most would probably consider foolish. I will also always be extremely thankful for everyone since 2009 who helped me and continues to help me, along the way in working toward achieving the vision that I had and fostering new goals and purpose along the way. I look forward to continuing with all of the new challenges and endeavors ahead for us at OLLU.”
