The volleyball team defeated nonconference opponent Schreiner University (SU) 3-1 last Wednesday. The Saints move to 14-3 on the season. The Saints battled for a 25-23 first set win that included 12 kills and 49 total attacks. OLLU won the second set 25-20, capped by only three errors and a .313 hitting percentage. The Saints responded after losing the third set by taking control of the fourth set halfway through the frame and eventually winning 25-22. Anyssa Rivera led the team with 38 total attacks, followed by Sadie Ballesteros with 35 attacks. The Saints play the University of the Southwest next on Oct. 17.
