OLLU Senior Spotlight: Kasey Saldana

The basketball team had a season to remember in 2019-2020. The Saints set the single-game scoring record twice this season, first with a 131-63 win over the University of the Southwest and then a 136-104 win against LSU-Alexandria later in the season – the NAIA’s record this year.

Senior Kasey Saldana became the all-time leading scorer in Saints history when she scored 23 points against Texas College on Feb. 6. She led the Saints in scoring by averaging 17.47 points per game and shooting 42 percent from the field.

Saldana reflected on the season saying, “I really thought this team could shock the nation with our performance at nationals. We had so much potential and the opportunity just got pulled away so quickly. Right now, I think all we can do is be thankful for the memories we do have and pray that God continues to bless us all in the future.”
