Softball welcomes Eneli Garza from La Feria

The softball team is proud to announce the signing of incoming freshman Eneli Garza. She has joined the team this fall.

The softball team’s spring 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 crisis. The NAIA mandated that all spring sports be canceled. The Saints are scheduled to play a limited fall 2020 lineup then get set for their official spring season in February 2021.

Garza is from La Feria, Texas, and attended La Feria High School. She chose OLLU because, “Home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling.”

Head Coach Bruce Lenington said, “Eneli is a very talented player who slaps and can play middle infield and has the ability to get us depth in the outfield as well. Her speed and athleticism are also two reasons we like her in an OLLU uniform.”

Garza’s hobbies include shopping, watching Netflix and hanging out with friends and family. Her athletic role model is University of Washington softball player Sis Bates. Garza was rookie of the year in 2017, won the 2018 leadership award and was an honorable mention for All-District in 2018-2019.
