OLLU Young Alumni program launches
To support current and future students, and to commemorate the school’s 125th anniversary, the university is launching OLLU Young Alumni, a program for those who have graduated within 15 years of the current calendar year.
OLLU Young Alumni is designed for proud graduates who want to become founding members of a program that will transform lives. Members of OLLU Young Alumni invest in their alma mater through recurring monthly or annual gifts that can be designated to a broad selection of areas, departments and programs.
A surge in alumni participation increases impact. OLLU alumni can give to a new or established fund, such as the Annual Fund, which supports academic programs, student activities, scholarships, athletics and more. This fund is paramount in helping award more than $4 million in student scholarships each year.
Flor Salas (BA Mass Communication ’12) and her husband Edwin Serrano (BS Kinesiology ’12) are proud to join OLLU Young Alumni.
“I am in a position to give today thanks to the education, the opportunities and the caring professors, staff and Sisters of Divine Providence who invested in me,” said Salas, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Girls Scouts of Southwest Texas.
“Our Lady of the Lake University set the foundation for my future growth as a Doctor of Physical Therapy,” said Serrano, co-owner and head physical therapist at Positive Action Physical Therapy.
Alumni giving is a rich and important tradition at OLLU. U.S. News & World Report and other publications use alumni philanthropy as one factor in the ranking of universities. Higher rankings bring greater value to an OLLU degree. Foundations and corporations consider rankings in their evaluations of grant funding and prospective gifts.
A gift of any kind can make a difference.
Members of OLLU Young Alumni will enjoy several benefits, such as professional networking and mentorship opportunities; special events tailored for OLLU Young Alumni only; an exclusive OLLU keepsake; and recognition in the OLLU Young Alumni Honor Roll of Donors.
