Update on student accomplishments

OLLU Lakefront Newscast students and faculty have been nominated for a Lone Star Emmy Award for best “College – Newscast.” They are Danielle Ojeda, anchor; Amanda Brown, adviser; Jeremy Falkner, reporter; Santiago Reyes, editor; Victoria Razo, reporter; and Elyssa Tijerina, reporter.

Reyes also received an Emmy nomination for “Tragedy Strikes El Paso” in the “College- News: General Assignment – Serious News” category.

San Antonio Cohort 29 Leadership Studies PhD students and their professor for Global Leadership presented three papers at the Academy of Business Research Conference Oct. 28-30:  

* “Gun Violence and the Cultural Impact of a Dysfunctional Environment” by Daryl Eddie Brickerson, Erron Gonzalez, Norma Avitua-Ovalle and Phyllis Duncan, PhD, Professor of Leadership Studies. 

* “The Real Pandemic, Global Food Insecurity: A Study on Global Leadership, Types of Government, Gross Domestic Product, and Corruption” by Elizabeth Perez, Florence Orji, Thomas Houle, Oscar Magan and Phyllis Duncan, PhD, Professor of Leadership Studies.

* GLOBE Cultural Dimensions in Women-Led Nations Facing COVID-19″ TaTaka Perry, Dolores Sendejo, Sarah Price and Phyllis Duncan, PhD, Professor of Leadership Studies.
