The women’s soccer team defeated Howard Payne University (HPU) 3-1 on the road on Wednesday. The Saints are now 2-0 while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-1.
Head Coach Arthur Salazar commented, “Overall it was a good performance, and I’m glad that we were able to come away with the win. When we have 32 shots, 19 of them on goal, there are still questions that need to be answered. Defensively we were sound and only gave up two shots. We just need to be more ruthless in front of goal so that the score line reflects our efforts in the run of play.”
