Angel Rodriguez will join cross-country and track and field teams next season

The cross-country and track and field teams have signed Angel Rodriguez to the 2021-2022 season.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, “I’m really excited that Angel signed with us. He is another talented recruit we’re adding to our roster. Angel really had a successful fall campaign, finishing 15th at the state meet, and I think his spring will be just as great. There is little doubt in my mind that he will continue his winning ways when he’s suited up as a Saint next year and in the years to follow.”

In high school, Rodriguez was a 2018 1600m/3200m District Champion, a 2019 3200m District Champion, a 2020 Cross-Country District Champion, a State Qualifier and 15th overall at State Meet. Rodriguez is a native of Hondo, Texas, and he attends Hondo High School.

The cross-country and track and field teams are both playing their seasons this spring because of COVID-19. Next year, cross-country is scheduled to run its regular season in the fall and track and field in the spring.
