OLLU hosts another successful ‘Encuentro High School Theology Institute’

The seven-day “Encuentro High School Theology Institute” wrapped up on June 23 with 21 high school students and 15 college mentors learning about the road to Emmaus and discovering God’s presence along the way.

Made possible with a $300,000 grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc., the students participated in workshops, service, activities and discussions to help them deepen their faith and apply it toward challenges within their community.

In the mornings, the students cleaned the gravestones of the Sisters of Divine Providence.

The Lilly Endowment grant allows the Encuentro summer program to continue for two more years.

Schools and parishes that participated were Holy Cross, Providence, San Juan de los Lagos, Christ the King Church, St. Bonaventure, St. Gerard, St. Paul’s, Our Lady of Angels and St. John Berchman.
