Women’s tennis plays first postseason tournament since 2014

The women’s tennis team participated in its first postseason Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championships Tournament yesterday since 2014. The program was disbanded after that season and reinstated in the 2020-2021 season. The No. 6 seed Saints fell to No. 3 seed LSU-Shreveport 1-6. The Pilots advance to the semifinals and will take on No. 5 Xavier University of Louisiana; The Saints conclude their 2022 season.

Assistant Coach  Dave Watts commented, “Despite having to default the two singles lines and a double line, our women went out and played hard. Saskia and Sofia pulled off a tough win with a 6-4/6-2 victory against a very tough line one singles opponent.”

Brisa Gonzales was selected as her team’s Champions of Character award winner.
