Men’s soccer opens 2022 season with draw against KWU

The Saints men’s soccer team ended in a draw against Kansas Wesleyan University (KWU) to begin the 2022 season on Friday. The Saints start the season 0-0-1 while the Coyotes move to 1-1-1.

This is the first meeting between the two programs.
Basics
Both teams were shown one yellow card in the first half. The Saints started strong with a goal from Benjamin Rios just three minutes into the match. Cade Ryan was credited with the assist after he sent a cross from the far side. OLLU totaled five shots in the first half while the Coyotes took nine.
KWU evened the match after halftime at the 64th minute. Brandon Oaks was able to steal the ball in the Saints’ end of the field and capitalized with a goal that went past Carlos Hernandez.
