OLLU named Early Voting and Election Day site

OLLU has been named an Early Voting and Election Day polling site, thanks, in part, to the strong advocacy of students at a Commissioners Court meeting last week.

Aniah Ammah, President of the Law and Politics Society (LPS), delivered an impassioned plea to County Commissioners. Her advocacy led to an interview with KENS-5.

Justin Rodriguez, County Commissioner for Precinct 2, announced at the Bexar County Courthouse that OLLU would be restored as a voting site.

The group, led by faculty adviser Dr. Leda Barnett, had previously received training on how to provide effective testimony by the nonpartisan community partner MOVE TX. After the testimonies, Commissioner Rodriguez pledged that OLLU would remain as a polling site.  Students providing testimony included LPS members Ammah, Kincaid Barnett, Ashley Morehead, Mauricio Canales, and Analisa Pennix.
